ARE YOU OBSERVING? There is something about ACCESS; it is a gift that sponsors a number of possibilities, and there is one that has become of interest to me in this piece, it is OBSERVATION. Following The LORD is not in any sense an abstract concept in which men simply prey on surface association. A clear responsibility of anyone who comes to the LORD is to SEEK HIM. Hebrews 11: 6 declares, "But without faith it is impossible to please HIM: for he that cometh to GOD must believe that he is, and that he is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek HIM." This Scripture lends us the understanding of our core responsibilities when it comes to following THE LORD. There is a natural feeling of confidence that comes on the basis of access especially at the early stage of a relationship. Especially one that involves a very important personality to you. Someone you have always dreamt of being around in order to learn from. Access develops confidence, passion to learn, posture of observation amongst many other possibilities. But all these can crash the moment the moment COMFORT OF ACCESS takes root.
One of JESUS' early disciples; John the beloved would talk about his journey with his Master, and what the basis of his witnessing was built around. He (John), established that they saw, heard, looked upon and handled things of the Word of Life. This was the outcome of the pursuit of men who were not satisfied with association and access, but ensured both afforded them the opportunity to OBSERVE the things of the Kingdom. While many get plunged into the subtilty of pride access to the LORD, association with His men on fields of service, access of fluidity and operation in the anointing amongst many other supernatural experiences, we can tabernacle and never really transition into the purpose of these open doors lest we OBSERVE THE LORD.
Walking with the LORD has its slippery sides specially set up to ensure the postures of humility. For when we get comfortable in access, the doors of self-confidence are flung open and we begin veering off the high places that access originally invited us into. After a long read through Hebrews 11 and the names and event spoken off, the Scriptures attempts to ensure we did not miss the point by pointing us to who the entire conversation had been about. "...looking unto JESUS the Author and finisher of our faith..." There may be things that have your attention, even things which JESUS gave you but none of them must become the object of your observations. Look on HIM, again I say LOOK ON HIM!
Great piece sir, thank you for sharing.
It is a good reminder to be cautious and have one's gaze on who only matters, and not to take for granted the gift of access Christ has provided us, lest with fall away through pride in self.
Thank you sir for sharing this piece.
My gaze is fixated on Jesus and Jesus alone
